Each July, the 360 acre property "Nez Perce Wallowa Homeland" becomes a place of reunion for descendants of the original inhabitants of walw'waama, the Wallowa country.
Three days of dancing and drumming at the outdoor, shaded arbor. Other events include a Horse Parade, Washat services in the Longhouse and a Friendship Feast. This meal includes traditional foods, prepared in the traditional way, which are complimented by side dishes brought by guests & the local community.
Descendants, locals, and visitors attend together. Vendors offer food, native crafts & craft supplies, and other goods. Tent & dry RV camping is welcomed and free of charge for this celebratory weeked.
